Who we are
Whose™ is a free educational game made by Yellow House Productions (Pvt) Ltd, a company registered in Sri Lanka (PV00308408), in collaboration with Linseed (Pvt) Ltd. Yellow House Productions is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at admin@yellowhouse.art.
What we collect
You can play every game without an account. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and your profile, stamps and scores are saved only in your own browser. They never leave your device.
Analytics, only with your consent. If you choose "Allow analytics", we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: pages and games viewed, time spent, device and browser type, and approximate location such as country or city. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. If you choose "No thanks", Google Analytics does not load and none of this is collected.
Technical data needed to run the site. Our hosting provider processes standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives a standard request from your browser.
Messages. If you email us, we use your message and email address only to reply and to fix any mistakes you report.
Why we collect it, and our legal basis
We use analytics only to understand which games are useful, improve the site, and report overall usage figures to partners and institutions. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Server logs and replies to messages are based on our legitimate interest in running a secure site and answering you. We do not use any of this data for advertising, we have switched off Google's advertising features and Google signals, and we do not sell data.
Who processes it, and where
- Google provides Google Analytics and Google Fonts.
- Vercel hosts the site.
Both act as service providers and may process data on servers outside Sri Lanka, under their own data protection terms and safeguards.
How long we keep it
Detailed analytics data is kept for two months, after which only overall totals remain. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host. Emails are kept only as long as needed to respond and to address corrections.
What is stored on your device
The site stores your analytics choice for six months, your display settings (such as light or dark mode) and your game progress in your browser's storage. This stays on your device. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics also sets its own cookies, which start with "_ga". If you later choose "No thanks", we remove those cookies.
Your rights
We handle personal data in line with Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022. You can:
- withdraw or change your analytics consent at any time, using the button below or "Analytics settings" in the site footer;
- ask to access, correct or erase personal data we hold about you;
- object to or ask us to restrict how we use it.
Write to admin@yellowhouse.art and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka.
Visitors in the European Union, the United Kingdom and elsewhere: you have equivalent rights under the GDPR and similar laws, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Younger players: if you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before choosing "Allow analytics".
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
